Review of the film "Papa-dosvidos"

When Donnie Berger was a 12-year-old schoolboy, he slept with a teacher, and she got pregnant. Fortunately, he just found out that his son, who had long since left home, had grown into a successful financier and got engaged to the daughter of a tycoon. So Donny decided to find his offspring and persuade him to star in a documentary about their family. After all, Berger was promised 50 thousand dollars for this picture!
One American critic called his article about "Dad" "Adam Sandler hates you." Too radical? However, his arguments are very convincing. In fact, imagine yourself in Adam Sandler's place. You are 45 years old, you have a wife and two children, as well as your own film company. You are a serious, purposeful person, and you probably would like to do something more substantial than creating stupid comedies where you portray overage jerks. But all your attempts to repeat the path of Tom Hanks and move into tragicomedies, dramas and melodramas have not been successful. Because your audience only wants to see you in dumb comedies. How would you feel in such a situation? And what kind of films would you try to shove down your fans' throats so that they would choke on their favorite abomination?
For example, such as "Such Different Twins" released last year, where Al Pacino courted Sandler's heroine. Or such as "Papa dosvidos", which begins with pedophilia and ends with incest. In between – sex with a grandmother, masturbation on a portrait of a grandmother, sex with a mannequin, eating food upside down, drooling, cum, feces, urine… And the half-forgotten rapper Vanilla Ice in the role of himself and as one of the key characters. And that's just what immediately comes to mind. But there are 116 minutes in "Dad", and many of them are filled with something nasty.
Of course, this is a matter of point of view, and for devoted fans of such comedies, incest and sex with old ladies is what the doctor prescribed. Surely someone even praises Sandler for keeping up with the current generation of creators of adult comedies and even surpasses them in exploiting forbidden topics. And I do not rule out that someone is waiting for a sequel, where the pregnancy of a 12-year-old girl will be at the center of the comedy plot: "What could be funnier!"
But when I watch "Daddy", I, like my American colleague, do not see a hardworking comedian who is ready to do anything for the entertainment of fans, and the evil clown Krusty from The Simpsons, who would be happy to do something else, but his show is the only thing he knows how to do. And that's why he not only makes the audience laugh, but also throws out his aggression on them, which is expressed in increasingly vulgar and disgusting jokes. One can only wonder how Sandler persuades stars of the caliber of Al Pacino and Susan Sarandon to play along with him. Maybe they are also offended by us?
